Queensland Agtech Pre Accelerator Program

Opportunity for

  • Early stage agtech startups looking to de-risk and accelerate their growth with expert guidance.

Opportunity description

Industry challenge

The Queensland agriculture sector is set to receive a significant innovation boost, with Farmers2Founders launching its first state-based pre accelerator and accelerator programs, in partnership with the Queensland Venture Capital Development Fund (VCDF), managed by Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC)

Current opportunity

The Farmers2Founders QLD pre accelerator cohort sprint offers high quality programming through growth sprints focused on product, customers, business model and investability, and pitching. We provide dedicated resources and coaching to early stage agtech founders to grow their tech-enabled startup into a thriving business.

This pre accelerator is open to QLD based agtech founders who are actively working on an agtech startup, with demonstrated customer desirability and validation and have a prototype/low fidelity MVP.

Your business must be solving challenges in the agrifood sector with a strong technology base and working towards a clear IP strategy. We strongly encourage you to be building a diverse team.

Opportunity background

Farmers2Founders was one of five accelerator programs to recently receive funding from the VCDF, in an attempt to drive innovation across the state. As the only agtech specialist involved in the VCDF project, the initiative provides Farmers2Founders with a significant opportunity to unearth and support a new cohort of exceptional and sustainable agriculture and food technology ventures.

The VCDF, managed by QIC, is further bolstered by the engagement and funding of five leading venture capital firms who have also received funding to inject and invest in participants from the selected accelerator programs. This will allow for Farmers2Founders participants to not only gain greater access to investment opportunities, but also the freedom to choose the most suitable partnerships for their ventures.
